Abstract

Electrical and Electronic Engineering
A study of a rubbed polyimide surface was carried out using sum-frequency vibrational spectroscopy (SFVS). SFVS has the advantage of being highly surface-specific and sensitive. It was observed that the polymer backbones are well aligned by rubbing along the rubbing direction and the imide cores are inclined towards the surface plane with a broad distribution.
