Abstract

System impact of group-delay (GD) ripple in single and cascaded chirped fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) was discussed. It was found that for single gratings with different GD ripple, shorter pulse-widths reduce the penalty induced by GD ripples. For cascaded FBGs, cascading the same grating resulted in similar performance as the ripple adds up linearly.
