Abstract
Antrodia camphorata (Niu-chang-chih)is a local fungi specie found in Taiwan. It seems to only grow on elder Niu-chang tree (Cinnamomum Kanehirai Hay). Its fruit body has been used as Chinese herb in treatment of various diseases. and it has been shown to exhibit antioxidant and antitumor effects. Antroquinonol is the extract of Antrodia camphorate. The objective of this research was to search for that the anti-exhaustive effects of Antroquinonol in tennis player. Twelve University tennis club male health subjects were examined in this double-blind, crossover trial:1. (PR) Added placebo (0.1g/Kg bw) did not exercise.2. (PE) Added placebo (0.1g/Kg bw) with exhaustive exercise. 3. (DR) added Antroquinonol (0.1g/Kg bw), did not exhaustive exercise (0.1g/Kg bw). 4. (DE) added Antroquinonol (0.1g/Kg bw) with exhaustive exercise. All subjects perform 80% VO2max intensity of continuous groundstroke against tennis ball machine until exhausted. Blood samples were intravenously collected from the subjects before and after (immediately, 10min, 20min, 30min, 1, 2, 24, 48hours, respectively) the exhaustive exercise. We used ELISA analysis pro-inflammatory(TNF-α、IL1-β) and Automated hematology analyzer to physiological indexes, such as creatine phosphokinase、blood lactate、blood glucose、ammonia. Results indicate that compared with PE group the the TNF-α、IL1-β and blood lactate concentration were decreased and exhaustive exercise time was increase in DE groups. These results support anti-exhaustive effects of Antroquinonol in tennis player.
