Abstract
The purpose of this article is to elaborate on important converged themes emphasized in the current counselling field and delineate the applications of these themes in counselling Taiwanese clients. Major themes converged from the current counselling field consist of the counselling relationship, brief counselling, eclectic counselling, common factors, and multicultural counselling. The effectiveness and applicability of these themes in counselling Taiwanese have been supported. Implications of these themes in Taiwanese counselling education/training clinical practice and research are delineated.
