Abstract
The seismic issues are very crucial for the design, operation, and safety of a supercritical fluid system, e.g. ultra-supercritical thermal power plants. However, the past studies regarding seismic impacts on supercritical fluid systems were quite sparse. The major aim of this study is to develop a time domain model for parallel uniformly heated channels with supercritical water under vertical seismic accelerations based on external force method and three-region methodology. The validation result against experimental data suggests that external force method is appropriate for a rigid vibration system. The analytical results indicate that the present model could apply to simulate transient responses of the supercritical fluid system under vertical seismic accelerations. The seismic vibration would dominate the dynamic behaviors among parallel channels.
