Abstract
The design of W-band heavily loaded TE 01 gyrotron Traveling-Wave Tube (gyro-TWT) with a distributed wall loss configuration was analyzed. The amplifier was developed to exploit the 94 GHz atmospheric window for long-range, high-resolution radar applications and was driven by a 100 kV, 5 A electron beam with a definite saturated gain and bandwidth. Linear codes were employed to check the stability of the amplifier against spurious oscillations. A self-consistent nonlinear particle tracing code was used to evaluate the performance for the modified interaction circuit.
