Abstract
This paper proposes a new cumulant based method for time delay estimation using a single Mth-order cumulant where M is an even integer greater than three. It is applicable when two sensor measurements are non-Gaussian and contaminated by Gaussian noise sources with unknown statistics. The time delay estimate is obtained using Broyden-Fletcher optimization algorithm. Some simulation results are provided to support that the proposed method works well and is more robust than Tugnait's CUM-TDPE method
