Abstract
We report the development of a high-power THz pulse train laser to drive an electron photoinjector, which in turn drives a single-pass free electron laser to generate fully tunable, coherent, intense THz radiation in a desktop dimension. In this work, we engineer a TW-power, THz pulse train laser and further encode the laser pulse structure to an electron beam through a photocathode electron accelerator. Such an electron beam, carrying the coherence of the laser, is ideal for generating high-brightness electron radiation at frequencies that can not be reached by a solid-state laser
