Abstract

fluidity regulation lipid-coated bubbles size control
Lipid-coated bubbles exhibit oscillation responses that have led to them being utilized to enhance the sensitivity of ultra-sound imaging by improving the contrast. Further improvements to performance enhancements by bubbles require control of their size distribution in order to promote the correspondence between the bubbles' resonance frequency and the applied ultrasound frequency. Here we describe a fluidity regulation technique that can naturally shift the size distribution with the steps of 0.5 μm. © 2011 IEEE.
