Abstract
Developing localized curriculum is one of the important directions of curriculum innovation. This action research aimed to realized the process of how the teacher transformed the teaching materials and curriculum to help the students to get involve in and understand their living environment better. By leading the students to observe and to explore the Koya River, and to reflect what they saw and what they learn, the teacher helped the students develop new identity of their living environment. The purposes of this project are as following: (1) To help the students to recognize the importance of their living environment; (2)To help the student to reflect their relationship with the river and nature; (3)To cultivate the students’positive attitude toward protecting the environment and ecology.The researcher investigated and recorded the process of the project, and the main finding are: (1)The support and discussion of the teacher society was helpful for the teacher to design and reflect the teaching content and process; (2)The localization of the life curriculum was helpful for the students to understand their living environment better; (3)Cooperation with the local community could enrich the project , the parents or even the grandparents cloud work with the teachers to help the students to know the history of the river and the environment; (4)The application of mobile device mobile device, such as iPad and Scrap Pad , made the students be interested in the project more , and helped them to present what they have learned in multiple ways.
