Abstract
The main purpose of this thesis is to develop hybrid electric scooter engine ignition system. Because the hybrid electric scooter will drives at high speed, engine will provide power and it needs an ignition system for regular engine operation. In this thesis, the engine ignition system adopts a flyback converter with a capacitor discharge ignition circuit. In the thesis, performance comparison between the proposed ignition system and the traditional capacitor discharge igniter is presented. Finally, implementation of an engine ignition system for assessing the efficiency and performance of the scooter has been conducted, which can verify the feasibility of the engine ignition system.
