摘要

Engineering Engineering, Civil Science & Technology Technology
The number of bridges that needs long-life retrieve due to structural deterioration has been increasing rapidly in Japan because of exceeding their designated service period. Since Japan is surrounded by the ocean, one of the main reasons of the structural deterioration is corrosion of steel materials caused by airborne sea salt. In order to operate efficient maintenance and management of bridges, it is important to predict the amount of sea salt adhered to each member of a structural surface. In this study, the mechanism of the deposition to a structural surface is to be discussed on field observation, experiment and numerical calculation. The tendency of distribution was in good agreement between predicted and observed value, yet there still needs further improvement to get more accurate results.
