Abstract
The asymmetric addition of diethyl zinc to aldehydes were catalized by the chiral □-amino alcohol 23 derived from ketopinic acid in few stepts. When the addition of Et2Zn to benzaldehyde was conducted at room temperature in the presence of 2 mol % catalyst, 1-phenylpropanol was obtained in 93 % e.e. in 15 minute.
