Abstract

H.264/AVC 錯誤回復工具 error resilience H.264/AVC Flexible Macroblock Ordering
H.264/AVC is the newest video coding standard of the ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group and the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group. The H.264/AVC standard is designed to provide high compression performance and a “network-friendly” video representation and error resilience tools, and hence it is suitable for different types of network applications, such as conversational (video telephony), streaming, storage, and broadcast. However, the error resilience tools provided by H.264 are not good enough to handle the packet loss situation when video is transmitted over error-prone channels. In this paper, we propose a video coding method that enhances the error resilient functionality of H.264, the proposed method merges the explicit type of Flexible Macroblock Ordering (FMO) with a redundant macroblock strategy for I-frame. Experimental results are presented to show that the proposed scheme performs well against packet loss errors and gives outstanding enhancement over the existing H.264 FMO disperse type.
