Abstract
3D Whole body scanning system is a very useful equipment applied in anthropometry. International anthropometric survey uses a 3D whole body scanner as a data collection tool. The scanned data are exported in pixels not in meshes in this study. In order to create the perfect anthropometric database, we have to identify some important landmarks on the body surface before executing the automatic measurement of body dimensions. An automatic marker identification from 3D scanning data has been developed by using the method of file analysis and image processing. The markers that are placed on the body surface include red, yellow, green and orange colors. Successful marker identification can be an important foundation for the automatic 3D measurement of body dimensions in the future.
