Abstract
In this thesis, we consider the problem of the degrees of freedom (DoF) on two-cell K-user symmetric multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) interference network with M and N antennas per user and base station (BS), respectively, which is abbreviated as (M,N,K)-SMIN. Different from many researches that focus on downlink scenario, we provide an achievable DoF of uplink (M,N,K)-SMIN. In addition, in order to enhance the achievable DoF, we divide the users per cell into two groups called tier 1 and tier 2 based on the inter-cell interference (ICI) levels. The new model is named Tiered (M,N,K)-SMIN, and we show that the DoF bound can be futher enhanced. From the result, we can observe that tiered model achieves more DoF, and the simulation in sum rate also demonstrate tiered model achieves better sum rate for MIMO interference network.
