Abstract
Disaster Record Capture Tool (DiReCT) is a tool for capturing disaster records. It runs on mobile devices and can let disaster data collectors capture disaster records in a machine-readable form. Its user interface is intuitive and easy to use. The tool has capabilities of real-time data collection quality control and disaster record quality assurance. DiReCT sends disaster data to an authoring system server. The authoring system server provides machine-readable disaster data to disaster analyze programs and disaster simulations, and it also assists authors in writing reports on the disasters to be read by people.
