Nowadays the challenge for the companies that want to acquire modern software like ERP that allow the flow of information through a company is to understand the responsibilities that entail the use of this systems, and technical details and mechanics of MRP. This means that it’s necessary to know how it works and what the software is calculating because the technology improvements and computers contribution is simply the power to store and access masses of data and to execute many logical calculations quickly. The purpose of this study is to design a Manufacturing Planning and Controlling (MPC) System for the Production Department of a Fast Food Chain. This chain has some problems like high cost of production, labor force, and waste, which could be solved with the proposed system. The system explains clearly how the information flows and is converted inside the production area, and will explain each one of the stages and calculations done within this system. Finally this study will determine the quantitative and qualitative benefits this system brings to the company. The results show that an MPC system helps to optimize the production cost significantly by reducing overtime work and maintaining the required labor force. It also ensures that materials and products are available for production and delivered to customers on time; in addition, it also plans manufacturing activities, delivers schedules and purchasing activities. Finally, the design of the system helps to identify what kind of information is required to achieve the goals of the process and what kind of tools are required to analyze the information.
