Abstract
This study examines employees working in luxury and high-end premium malls in India in terms of brand status or conspicuousness value and their relationship with stress at work. When these employees face abusive supervision at their corresponding stores, employees tend to have high stress levels. Data was collected from 68 surveys in 30 stores. The proposed hypotheses were tested with SPSS. The results supported negative relationships between of status, consciousness and stress. The positive relationship between abusive supervision and stress at work was also supported.
