Abstract
There are four green and blue phosphors have been successfully fabricated in this study. The flux of eutectic NaCl-MgCl2 and NaBr-NaI are employed to fabricate the ZnS:Cu:Cl green, ZnS:Ag:Cl blue and ZnS:Cu:Al green, ZnS:Ag:Al blue phosphors. The appropriate flux composition and optimal firing parameters were evaluated in this study. After a series of brightness and color evaluation, The 120 ppm Cu-doped ZnS:Cu:Cl phosphor and the 800 ppm Ag-doped ZnS:Ag:Cl phosphors fired with eutectic NaCl-MgCl2 flux system,. to be the appropriate phosphor for CRT display application. evaluated to be the optimal one (5) The 200 ppm Cu-doped ZnS:Cu:Cl phosphor, fired with NaI-NaBr flux, showing color coordinate x/y = 0.272/0.488 and brightness of 3845±16 cd/m2 is the appropriate phosphor for CRT display application. The 500 ppm Ag-doped ZnS:Ag:Cl phosphors, fired by the identical flux, having a color coordinate of x/y =0.147/.0.74 and its brightness of 1192±11 cd/m2, is evaluated to be the optimal blue phosphor.
