Abstract
With the improving technology, Internet provides convenience to people for modern life. For the improvement of WWW, it is possible to transmit messages simultaneously between different parts in the world. Some web sites allow on-line news in place of traditionally printed newspaper. Usually, the web site contains multicolored advertisements and plentiful audio-visual contents to enrich the visual effects of the web page. These magnificent contents may make a deep impression on the users, but they may be useless for the blind. Therefore, this research simulates an on-line news website for the blind. The friendly interface of on-line news for the blind (FIONB) is constructed with accessible interfaces and simplified operation process for the blind to browsing news easily and efficiently. Then, the effect of the FIONB was verified by an experiment. The experimental result, it is expected that the FIONB could promote the efficiency of browsing news and reduce searching time. Besides, the users were more satisfied with the simulator. We also anticipated that one would have better performance in learning.
