Abstract
A hole-doped two-leg spin ladder is a simplified two dimensional the t-J model to exhibit superconductivity. Sr14Cu24O41 is one of these materials to contain a hole-doped spin ladders. Similar to the competition between stripes and superconductivity, hole crystal is expected to compete with superconductivity in a doped spin-ladder. Accordingly, the information of hole distribution and hole ordering is the key to reveal the mechanism of superconductivity. In this thesis, we used the polarization-dependent x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) to obtain the information of hole distribution. Moreover, we used the resonant soft x-ray scattering (RSXS) to investigate the hole orderings in ladder and chain layers. RSXS is a powerful technique for separating electronic effects and structural effects.
