Abstract
iMAN, intelligent monitor, alert and notification tool described in this thesis is designed to provide the capabilities for real-time monitor, capture and analysis of event logs and conditions that indicate the potential for occurrence, or actual occurrences, or errors, and issuing alerts and notifications to triggers error or prevention actions. Like similar tools (e.g., flight data and cockpit voice recorders on board aircrafts) for safety critical devices and systems, the event processing and notification functions of iMAN also enables the user to analyze and determine the causes of errors after they occur. iMAN is unique in its capability to alert the user when it detects event and action sequences that have a high likelihood to cause error.
