Abstract

多視角影像 視角切換 點對點串流 Multi-View Video View Switching P2P Network Video Streaming
Multi-view video can provide viewer a visual experience like in real world. With the improvement of multi-view video technique, people can enjoy a view experience better than single-view video, even on computers or mobile devices. Due to the great amount of data in multi-view video, we need more bandwidth to support multi-view streaming; in recent years, many new coding schemes are proposed to compress the data. Besides, with the interactive property of multi-view video, viewers can randomly choose a single view to watch, and switch to another during its view time. While switching to another view, it may take some time to receive the data of another viewpoint, therefore cause some view switching delay, which can level down the streaming video quality. There has been some researches focus on reducing view switching delay; even so, none of them consider the packet loss problem. Packet loss is one of the major challenges to network transmission, which affects video data collection during view switching, and increase the delay. In P2P video streaming system, peer dynamics lead to more packet loss opportunities for peers, and the packet loss of a peer will propagate to its neighboring peers through inter-transmissions, which can seriously effect view switching. We proposed a packet loss propagation model to capture the packet loss behavior over a mesh network in previous work. In this paper, we propose a peer selection scheme to minimize view switching delay. Simulation results demonstrate that our peer selection scheme has lower switching delay, compare to other state-of-the-art schemes.
