Abstract

大強子對撞機 弱交互作用 標準模型 超越標準模型 Extra Z boson Drell-Yan LHC parton distribution function gluon fusion associated production weak interaction the Standard Model beyond the Standard Model
Many theories beyond the Standard Model contain extra neutral gauge boson(s), called Z' [1]. It will be interesting to probe this new gauge particle at the coming Large Hadron Collider ( LHC ) which has a 14 TeV CM energy. We discuss a few leading production processes of Z' at LHC: the Drell-Yan process, the gluon fusion, and the fermion pair associated production. The Z' production cross section is calculated in a model-independent way. As a check, the production rate of the Standard Model Z is found to agree with the known result. The one loop gluon fusion production is forbidden by Yang's theorem [2]. We explicitly carry out a loop calculation and see how this theorem works. We also obtain the analytic form of amplitude square for associated production.
