Abstract
In this paper we are interested in Optical Properties of Birefringence Crystal Cr:YVO4. In chapter 1 we will describe the linear and nonlinear (saturable absorption) optical characteristics. Because the samples are with birefringence, we design a measuring system to measure the phase retardation of our samples. The detail of the phase retardation measurement will be discussed in chapter 2. In chapter 3 we will use Z-scan technique to find out the absorption cross sections, finally we make a conclusion of the result in chapter 4. Using grating to analyze the multi-modes (green noise) in the laser cavity (CW laser) is presented in the appendix. We can observe the mode separations by using grating to spectrally resolve the incident laser beam.
