Abstract
Digital Halftoning techniques have been widely used on general binary display devices, such as printers, fax machines, and monochrome monitors. The image output devices which we use frequently with digital halftoning have image distortion. The distortion is due to the digital halftoning. In the last decage, digital halftoning techniques are discussed widely and deeply. The model of human eye effect has been considered. However, the image quality generated from the printer and the fax machine does not improve significantly. Therefore, both models of the printer device and the human eye are considered to find a optimal digital halftonign in the DCT domain.
