The pitch detection and pitch marking are of wide interest to the field of speech signal processing. This thesis propose a new method of pitch detection based on the local maximum map of the autocorrelation function, and a pitch marking algorithm by L-R decision. We also annotate a speech database of all Taiwanese monosyllables with their pitch marks that is useful for Text-To-Speech synthesis application.
