Abstract
RFID(Radio frequency identification) technology causes the popularized researches to apply in many areas all over the world recently. It has been used in various kinds of industries, especially applications in assembly process management of auto industry are very common. However, there are very few researches published about the implementation and execution of RFID for local auto assembly industry. This thesis presents the case study for applications of RFID in a domestic listed auto coporation to probe into relevant topics. First of all, the paper shows the researches and application cases in famous auto company of RFID all over the wolrd. Then practice applications of RFID technology in auto company have been analyzed and distinguish into several models, considerations, and installation methods. Moreover, the research investigated the assembly process of case company for exhaustive understanding. Then the current problems and RFID application opportunities have been dug out by reviewing the assembly process of case company. Furthermore, the considerations and choices of alternatives for preparation and implementation stage in case company have been ascertained. Then the several models, considerations, installation methods of RFID application and key success factors are proposed after interviewing with project experts of case company and detailed analyzing. In addition, by comparing the applications in famous auto companies with case company, this research presents the vantages of application models and alternatives. The applications of RFID technology in auto industry still have a lot of issues to explore and evaluate. By reference of considerations and procedures in identification, tracking of work in process and automatic applications of RFID in case company, the other auto company or even other manufacturing factories can implement their own RFID applications in assembly process.
