Abstract
Modern enterprises are moving their business model from OEM to ODM. Increasingly enterprises use “mass customization” to embrace the market changes in order to grasp customer’s needs. The following issues are important in the collaborative commerce era:1. How to reduce the time and cost of product development?2. How to integrate the design data of collaborative partners?3. How to convert design data to commerce data such as catalog information in a timely manner? The objective of this thesis is to construct a collaborative design data exchange platform. The PDM Schema is applied as standard data model to enable the integration of various enterprise systems. The system uses PDM Schema modular to be the kernel application protocol standard. Further, it uses the implementation method, ISO 10303 – 28, to add new table names into database to proceed with the storage of product design phase. This study uses the approach to reduce the time and cost of product development by integrating the design data of various partners. This research uses STEPml to place STEP data on the web. STEPml will convert the design data to eCatalog XML format at the design finishing phase. Thus, the eCatalog XML data can be ported to the eCatalog platform in a timely manner.
