Abstract

光纖 接收器 optical fiber CMOS preamplifier limiting amplifier 1.25Gb/s transimpedance amplifier receiver PECL
High-speed optical fiber receivers are described. In this work, a preamplifier and a post-amplifier, operating at 1.25Gb/s, are implemented using TSMC 0.6μm UMC 0.5μm and TSMC 0.35μm CMOS processes. The minimum input of the preamplifier is -12.02 dBm. It reduces to -15.2dBm when operating at 300Mb/s. The post-amplifier provides an PECL-compatible output voltage on 50Ω load. All the above circuits operate with a single 5V or 3.3V power supply depending on the process. The level of integration and potential low cost shows that advanced submicrometer CMOS technology would play an important role in the future fiber communication systems.
