Abstract
The target of this thesis research is to prepare a novel starburst triarylamine 24 (N1,N1,N4,N4-tetra[4-(diphenylamino)phenyl]-1,4- Benzenediamine). We used two approaches. In this first approach, we planned to couple compounds 25 and 26 to afford 24. But this coupling reaction did not work as expected. Compounds 25 was prepared from 27 and 28. Reduction of compound 29 gave 27. Compound 29 was obtained from reaction of 4-nitroaniline with iodobenzene. Compound 28 was synthesized from 4-iodoaniline and iodobenzene. In the second approach, we prepared compound 38. However, reaction of 38 with iodobenzene using various catalyst could not produce the desired starburst triarylamine 24.
