Abstract
Needlestick injury, one of the most common occurring occupational injuries to medical clinical workers. About 87% of clinical workers had Needlestick injury experience. Medical clinical workers may be at risk of acquiring a bloodborne infectious disease by Needlestick injury. Although the safety design needle has been included in the medical law and hospital evaluation project, but the sharp Container related to the disposal of equipment specifications, the current waste disposal regulations are still the main, This study found that long-term care system, less safety equipment could be select. the common use of recycling containers for the collection of sharp objects. This study reviewed the literature on needle-stick injury events, post-exposure prophylaxis and the requirement of safety design. This study analyze those common safety equipment in clinical use, and collect information from interview those who had Needlestick injury events. After the analysis, we can found the high risk medical clinical technology. We analyze the process of high risk clinical technology and try to found the improve point. According to Ergonomics and Intrinsic safety principle to design a sharp collector device. This device can drop the risk value and eliminate the factor of Needlestick injury. Provide clinical staff another options to help create a friendly and safety work environment.
