Abstract
Since early times, mankind has been utilizing all kinds of symbols, patterns, and pictures to convey simplified information and messages. From ancient Egypt pictograph, Mesopotamia cuneiform characters to Chinese oracle bone inscriptions; altogether one of the methods to record human thinking and affections. Nevertheless, it was not until five century BC, the Greek alphabet was established, enabled the preservation of western culture, such as thoughts, arts, and religion. As in today’s twenty-first century, with the development of computer information, computerized coding language has become humankind’s most important media to preserve our valuable information. Despite from the historical view point, or from the evolution of human civilization in information development, mankind has an indestructible relation with symbolic coding starting from their birth; such as birth name, ID number (the only individual identification code), school number, even the number of our license plate, all indicates a code name. If weren’t for these simplified identification (code name), in such case we would be in certain chaos and complication for recollection understanding and information conveying. The thesis is mainly probing into a coding system exercised by an actual production factory – it enables factory workers to recognize and convey the information easier by using the simplified coding identification method, and further reduce human causes of erroneous judgment and memory difficulty while transmitting information, in order to avoid losses. This study will focus on the advantageous designs of the new code by applying the coding principles: 1. The logical structure of coding integrity must conform with users’ demand and the manner of data processing. 2. The coding system must possess uniqueness. 3. The coding system should include standardized operating norms and coding formats. 4. The coding system ought to be simple and practical, easy to be accepted and popularized. 5. The coding structure should be flexible, enabling the coding system to be revised and augmented. 6. The coding system should be suitable for computer processing, carrying out classification and sorting, and most important extracting or excerpting information from the entire database.
