The trend of enterprise integration is toward the process-oriented business process redesign in recent years. The thinking of which is an integrated method based upon enterprise experience to redefine the manageable or productive business process by association with the objectives, organization structures and resources. The information system ought to align with the business process, enabling process management and cross-functional process integration. From this perspective of process oriented implementation, this paper examines the properties of business functionality and process behavior for modeling. Additionally, a reference procedure model is proposed that help company devise and implement an effective information system architecture. For the view of business process, it is based on CIMOSA enterprise modeling vision in this paper. Both Basic Business Process (BBP) of the conceptual logical level binding with organization unit and Operation Unit (OU) of the operational physical level conjoining with process-owner are addressed in the functionality structure modeling. Besides, the behavior between inter-/intra-BBP will be modeled for the control of process with the mechanism of event, in which we use EPC as a modeling language. To simplify the transform analysis for information system design, an object-oriented modeling for design specification is applied directly on OU by identifying its business objects. In this paper, a system development life cycle is proposed in a procedure model as the direction for the engineering of BPR. A simple case is illustrated for this procedure model, in which the design specification of event mechanism is also introduced to support the dynamic behavior for carry out business process redesign.
