Abstract
During inter-integrated and extra-integrated processes, it is difficult not only to accurately examine the performance of enterprise integration, but also to know the benefit of enterprise integration. In order to measure the performance of enterprise integration and to put forward suggestions for improving the lack of enterprise integration, it is necessary to construct key performance indices of enterprise integration, which can feed the achievement of enterprise integration back to the chief executive. For this reason, this research intends to construct a performance index evaluation model for enterprise integration in manufacturing industry, and to identify the possibilities and improvement drivers as well for improving the performance of enterprise integration. In order to achieve these purposes, we first reviewed the related studies on enterprise integration and performance evaluation, and interviewed some professionals. Based on the definition of enterprise integration by AMICE in 1993, we divided enterprise integration into three fundamental phases, i.e., Business Integration (BI), Application Integration (AI), and Physical Integration (PI). The top-down hierarchical decomposition and bottom-up synthesis of objectives proposed by Clemen was then adopted here to and develop a complete set of performance indices in hierarchy. Finally, we collaborated with two manufacturing companies and probed into the causes of the performance of enterprise integration in depth. The second outcomes and suggested actions were fed back to individual companies for improving the performance of enterprise integration.
