Abstract
Due to the fast evolution of the supply chains and the competitive environment of the worldwide logistic management system, the relationship between an enterprise and its suppliers has changed from antagonism to cooperation. Therefore, choosing suitable suppliers has become an important task in supply chain management. In this research, the supply parts are classified first to be related to different supplier relationships and then different supplier selection indexes are identified for each supply part group to save the time for the evaluation and selection of suppliers. Next, the AHP method is used to obtain the weight of each index and to establish the hierarchy of the indexes. And then the fuzzy set theory is applied to transform the measures of the indexes into quantitative variables, which can show the deferences in the performance of different suppliers. Then the gray relation analysis method is used to find the ranks of the suppliers’ integrated performance. It can overcome the problem of the effect of a small sample size. Finally, the proposed method is applied to the supplier evaluation and selection of a wireless network equipment manufacturer. The result has proved its usefulness in the real-world problem. The proposed supplier evaluation and selection model can reduce the time of decision making and also increase the accuracy of the decision.
