Abstract
The most important function of an optical drive is to obtain the data stored in disks. Data acquisition of an optical drive depends on proper servo system of an optical pick-up head, such as focusing、tracking and seeking servo. However, some external disturbance, like reflectance variation、disk wobble and smudge on the surface of the disk cannot be rejected by the servo system. Therefore, by analysis of the signal output of optical pick-up head, a novel on-line signal conditioning method is herein proposed which substitutes for the contemporary method used in the optical drive concurrently. The advantages of the new method are on-line compensating for the reflectance variation and shaping improper error signal, which caused by fluctuation of S-curve.
