Abstract
Oil pregnant bearing is a key component in the spindle motor used for CD-ROM and DVD. Owing to the criticle requirements for higher rotation speed and system dynamic, it's turned to be a very important concern as studying on such a system through the point of view of tribology. In this thesis, first of all, will focus on studying the theoretical short narrow bearing model of porous material before we make the chice of eight control factors including lubricant, clearnace, oil contant, surface roughnes, assemble conditions and so on, and also before the chice of three quality indicators of friction to the journal, system stiffness and by combining these two as one factor. After coming out the most suitable combination on the chiced control factor based on the S/N ratio and sensitibity, futher more, a predicted value on the friction force of jounal and the system stiffness related to any set of results will also be calculated in this thesis as a conclusion.
