Abstract
Motorola Company has introduced the activities of “Six Sigma” since 1980. From General Electric enhanced and gloried it in the year of 1990 up to now. “Six Sigma” has become “a remarkable theory” of quality and management in the 2000 era.Now I work for Tung-Hsiao Electrodialysis Salt Factory, and will be faced with a form change of operation business and running by local people instead of state-run. At this time, our company decides to carry out Six Sigma. So it can improve organizational culture And promote competitive might. It’s my pleasure to be designated as a “Black Belt” in Tung-Hsiao Factory, it stir me up to be interested in research and application about the principle of Six Sigma.The research includes four parts:（1）Research on the literature relative to Six Sigma.According to the literature, we can realize the original source and definition of Six Sigma. From its essence, we can find out the speciality of its activities, the difference between Six Sigma and TQM, improving model, organizational framework, the connection between Six Sigma and the analysis for process capability, the connection between Six Sigma and quality cost, and research on key factors in success.（2）Carry out the practical affairs of Six Sigma.How to figure out the levels of Six Sigma? How to choose the earmarked projects of the improvement? Set up the primary technique of the improvement. Set up the advanced technique of the improvement. The explanation about the speciality of design for Six Sigma. （DFSS） （3）Analyze the results which Six Sigma is led into case companies.（4）Offer integrative conclusion and suggestion to case companies and the companies which hope to adopt Six Sigma.On the side of practical research, except analyzing the questionnaire which proceed to question and survey case companies and counselors, there are also live interview with the experts of executive bodies which execute Six Sigma activities and superior supervisors of case companies. Generalize a conclusion about the technical aspect and the managerial aspect of carrying out Six Sigma, and what should we do that can make Six Sigma bring full into expectant efficiency. To collect and analyze the things which handle especial problems of Six Sigma and the information relative of negative evaluation, hereby realize more about the original feature of Six Sigma activities, and offer the reference information to academic community and industrial circles. This dissertation will be expected to be the outline briefs of reference which Six Sigma activities are led into all industry and professions.
