Abstract
Fullerene derivatives, C60[(CH2)4O(CH2)4OSO3Na]6 (star-ionomer), consisting of a C60 cage covalently bonded with 6 long ionic sulfonate arms, soluted in water and were studied using small angle scattering in both neutron and X-ray (SANS and SAX). Rod-like aggregation of star-ionomers were observed, which is quite different form spherical -like aggregation of star ionomers with short arms in our later study. The aggregates were found nearly monodisperse in concentration from 0.5 wt% to 4 wt%, is the same to that of short arms.
