Abstract
Wireless communication has become a hot subject in recent years. Due to the increase in bandwidth and coding efficiency, wireless communication used to transmit voice only, can now transmit digital data, and will be able to transmit multimedia data in the near future. This thesis will first introduce Bluetooth technology and H.263 video coding standard. Then, we will discuss the protocols and profile we are going to use. Finally, we have successfully developed an application that can transmit real-time video data on Bluetooth wireless system using H.263 as video coding standard. In order to rapidly develop our application, we use personal computers and Windows? operation system as our platform. After successfully test our application, we will discuss what future works can be done for multimedia over Bluetooth system.
