Abstract
This research is directed to study the commercialization process of emerging technology in both domestic and foreign cases and to examine the effective policy mechanism in the transition from idea to the market.The goal of this research is to find a suitable commercialization model for domestic research centers to follow by comparing and evaluating the innovation policy and mechanism in the cases of Taiwan and United States. Additional case studies are conducted with scenario planning and generation to investigate how domestic research centers could promote technology commercialization and industry development. The important roles and the interactions among the stakeholders in the commercialization process have also been discussed. The research then derives the key success factors for the research centers to effectively enact innovation mechanism in the technology commercialization process.
