Abstract
Recently, as the electromagnetic compatibility standard, abbreviated as EMC, being adopted by most European and American countries, consumer electronic products are regulated to generate no electromagnetic interferences, abbreviated as EMI, while in operation. Hence, expensive instruments are employed for product measurement on the EMI specifications such that more human resources and expenditures are wasted in the industry. With the advent of personal computers as well as computer-aided engineering software, computer simulations are adopted for analysis of conducted EMI caused by power factor correction circuits can in this thesis. Also, power-line filter is designed with the help of CAE software to comply with the relevant EMI standards such that both time and manpower can be reduced. In this study, the analysis of EMI signals for PFC circuits are conducted with OrCAD PSpice. Then, the important circuit parameters influencing the EMI effects are identified. Moreover, design of power-line filter are investigated on the EMI results with comparisons between nil-filtered and filtered PFC circuits via simulations. The simplified and effective approach could be beneficial for design engineers on power-line filters.
