Abstract
Abstract This article is devoted to answering the questions " medical knowledge "one asked. Based on the corpus and notes of the scholars during the Northern Song Dynasty, and according to the scholars' access to medical knowledge, namely reading medicine books and interpersonal communication, combining their medical practice, observe the process and characteristics of the medical knowledge established by the Northern Song Dynasty scholars groups. During the Northern Song Dynasty, scholars mainly obtained medical resources and established a medical knowledge base by reading the medical prescriptions and using the network of people to establish a medical community. People read medical books not only for the purpose of obtaining medical knowledge, but also for fulfilling the requirements of scholarship. Scholar groups treated the classic medical books piously; while treating other professional medical books, they had a cautious and questioning attitude. People relied on interpersonal social networking established by the medical community, the members constituted a complex. The resources that flowed within the community are diverse and abundant. Compared with the knowledge gained from reading books, "word of mouth" medical knowledge is more pertinent and practical, but it lacks systematic and comprehensiveness. When people exchanged views on medicine in the community, they were more concerned with collecting more information to provide more choices for their own treatment. And the "experience" of an individual is both an argument that is difficult to refute and a buffer zone for different opinions. This paper takes the practice of scholars in Lingnan, Shu and Kaifeng as an example to examine the medical practices of the scholars. Although the three regions vary greatly in the allocation of medical resources, they show a consistent and positive attitude toward the issue of life and death. At the same time, the people's pursuit of high-quality medicinal herbs has not diminished because of the differences in situation.
