Abstract
With the development of the microwear analysis method, the research on the hafting and hafting tool has received attention and the functional research on the hafting tool has started being developed. This thesis has tried typology and use wear analysis with functional perspective and archeological context. By identifying these traces, this study tried to seek the functional typology and the possible stone adze use-pattern which prehistoric Dahu Culture people may did. The results of the study show that metamorphic basalt adze in the Dahu Culture sites in the Southern Taiwan Science Park has various forms and types. Its traces can be found many different corresponding relationships to each other in the use-wear analysis. However, an obvious feature of this adze with “suspected hafting-wear polish surface ” is to be found. With the thick striation found on the back edge side, this kind of adze indicate its possible hafting way and pattern. That most stone adzes has various traces shows some arbitrary features on the stone adzes use by Dahu Culture people, not merely with hafted.
