Abstract
Abstract In recent years, the tension between Taiwan and China is relatively eased. With Chinese economy being open to the world and the rapid development, many Taiwanese investors are starting to invest in China. Considering the dual factors of family and education, Taiwanese investors often bring their wife and children to live in China to avoid living in different countries thus affecting the relationship between the relatives. Due to historical background, political reasons, and education concepts and other issues, Taiwan and China have many differences in living habits, cultural customs, etc. many Taiwanese investors are unavoidably feeling the discomfort of living in China. This article examines the relatives of Taiwanese investors living in China and conduct interviews to understand Taiwanese investors assessment of the differences in livelihood in Taiwan and China. In addition, an analysis of the effects on the relatives of Taiwanese investors living in China due to differences in life and culture between Taiwan and China is made. Studying the adaptability of Taiwanese investors living in China and made consultative opinions for Taiwanese investors’ relatives for faster integration into China’s lifestyle. This article uses literature review and interviews to compare the life and cultural differences between China and Taiwan for Taiwanese investors’ relatives. Through research and analysis, this article concludes: Although China and Taiwan have different historical background, lifestyle and cultural behaviors, in modern society with advanced technologies, the difference between the two countries appears to be negligible under the global development strategy. To enhance the integration of Taiwanese investors into the local Chinses community, this article proposes five consultative opinions that make it easier for relatives of Taiwanese investors to integrate into the lifestyle in China.
