Abstract

唐文標保釣運動左翼文學現代詩論戰張愛玲
Since there were written records, all of the literary works that depicted the people, things, time, places, objects in Taiwan, and even those far-back works of aboriginal oral myths and legends, can be categorized as Taiwanese literature. In these literary works, Taiwanese left-wing literary thoughts and movements are important phenomena and enjoy a significant status. Especially after World War II, there were a pyramid of left-wing Taiwanese, Japanese, Chinese, or even European and America writers and literary works. A Cantonese man, wen-biao Tang, received middle school education in Hong Kong, obtained a PhD degree in math in the US, and lectured in Taiwan after the Diaoyu Islands dispute. As a math professor embracing leftist literati thoughts and the philosophy of practical actions, Tang aroused the controversy of modern poetry and caused Eileen Chang waves. This study aims to define Tang in the literary history and analyze the Burning Ages by means of describing the controversies and influences on Taiwanese literature after WWII brought by his life and criticisms.
