Abstract
Wavelength division multiaccess (WDMA), which utilizes the vastbandwidth of the optical fiber, offers a newly attractive way toconstruct high-speed communication networks. In a single-hop WDMnetwork system with passive star, many MAC protocols have been proposed.In this thesis, we propose a conflict free MAC protocol with multiplepriority classes for single-hop WDM network based on passive startopology. Furthermore, two different priority schemes are also proposedto share the available bandwidth. Based on our protocols, channelutilization is close to 1 and the unfairness problem will be solved.
