Abstract
Location-based services are popular nowadays, and mobile devices equipped with GPS tell their current locations to use these services. However, the GPS latitude and longitude can be forged easily, and common people still lacks a good location authentication mechanism to verify whether the user claims the true location. It is useful on location-based services. In this paper, the new scheme {\it A SUperior condition-Based Location authentication approach In a ubiquitous Mobile Environment} called {\it SUBLIME} is proposed to authenticate users' location claims. This approach takes advantage of mobile device's neighbours' information as the authentications, and the server will verify whether these authentications are bogus or not. In general, this approach is not only secure but also easy to use and deploy. This paper also discusses the any potential attacks in this approach and proposes corresponding solutions. In addition, a prototype is built to test the feasibility, usability, deployment, the speed of encryption and power consumption.
